FeedDemon is another RSS reader, but this one actually rocks. I've tried using readers before but never found one that met my needs or worked properly. FeedDemon may change that. It is still in beta.

I just learned about Nick Bradbury's latest project, FeedDemon, an RSS news aggregator. Nick's work in the web development tools space has been pioneering, with HomeSite being the most popular HTML text-editor ever released, and TopStyle, the standard productivity tool for CSS editing. Versions of both HomeSite and TopStyle are included with Dreamweaver MX. (Interesting side-note: HomeSite is what brought Allaire and Macromedia together in the first place --- Kevin Lynch was looking to partner with the leading HTML editor vendor (Allaire, as we had recently brought on Nick and HomeSite).

I'm really excited to be using a Nick Bradbury product again! This is Nick's first attempt at what I'll call an end-user personal productivty tool (e.g. the kind of stuff that only Microsoft is supposed to be able to build because of their dominance with Office).

Are you ready to use the ultimate Windows desktop news aggregator? The time has come for you to download the FeedDemon Beta. I've been alpha testing it for weeks now and can honestly say that it's coming along very nicely. It won't hose your system, either. Give it a shot - especially if you're an RSS newbie.

Nick Bradbury, the author of HomeSite, is building a very promising RSS aggregator. It has an Outlook 2003-like interface and lets you flag items, explore links, and more. The first beta will be available within the next few weeks. Don't miss out on this one...

Remember HomeSite? Nick Bradbury leaped onto the software scene with his fantastic HTML editor several years ago (which Macromedia eventually swallowed). I expected nothing less than perfection with TopStyle, his CSS editor for both style sheet newbies and fanatics. It's what I recommended to Robert when he wanted to dive head-first into the world of legacy-free happiness. Nick even went as far as to put an option in the View menu that'll take users directly to the TopStyle blog. Here's a programmer who really "gets it." Need further proof? He's aiming to release FeedDemon, what appears to be the ultimate news aggregator for the Windows platform. Check out the screen shots and you'll see what I mean. Integration with Feedster, Technorati-style link discovery, and (most importantly) a somewhat-uncluttered UI. Expect a beta download by the end of May, but until then, I suggest flooding his news server with feature requests for what you want to see in a desktop client.

Cool. Great. I'm so impressed, I don't know how to express it. Finally an RSS aggregator for Windows that looks comparably good as NetNewsWire does on Windows, with a very cool feature: synchronization with a publically accessible OPML file.

Here it is: FeedDemon Beta

Issues:
It's still a beta.
I couldn't find any blogging support.
Probably more to follow (it's a beta after all).

I pulled down a copy of the FeedDemon beta, and I have to say that it has exceeded my
expectations. The layout of FeedDemon is very similar to Outlook 2003 which
makes it much easier to read posts. While it does not really add any
revolutionary features, it adds a ton of nice features from a usability
stand-point. The newsbin and the "newspaper" style are particularly nice.

Unfortunately I have not been able to import my feeds from Sharpreader, so I
will probably have to do some manual tweaking to get the import working.

Nick Bradbury, the creator of Homesite and TopStyle, tells us that FeedDemon Beta 1.0 (pre-release) is now open to the public for download. I am sure you will enjoy the ease of using this feed reader as much as I enjoyed alpha testing it. This is yet another example of the amazing skill Nick Bradbury has for developing top-notch software.

A Pre-release FeedDemon Beta is now available to anyone interested in beta testing this exceptional RSS reader and organizer. Brought to us by Nick Bradbury the person who gave us HomeSite and my favourite CSS and XHTML Editor, TopStyle Pro. For those of you who have not heard the rumblings about FeedDemon, it enables you to quickly explore the world of RSS from your desktop without having to visit hundreds of sites. Claiming to make RSS "as easy to access as your email"

It does have a few words of warning for people that are unfamiliar with Beta software but it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
